Description

These stuffed pizza rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer featuring pizza dough rolled with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and Italian seasonings. Baked until golden and bubbly, they are perfect finger foods for parties or snacks, served warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Dough and Sauce

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, plus extra for dipping

Cheese and Meats

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings and Finishing

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle shape, ensuring an even thickness for consistent cooking.
  3. Spread Sauce and Add Fillings: Spread a thin layer of the marinara sauce evenly over the dough. Then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder evenly across the surface.
  4. Roll the Dough: Starting from one of the long edges, tightly roll the dough into a log shape, encasing all the fillings securely inside.
  5. Slice and Arrange Rolls: Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch thick pieces and place each piece cut side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  6. Brush with Olive Oil: Lightly brush the tops of each roll with olive oil to help them brown nicely in the oven.
  7. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let the pizza rolls cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Customize the filling by adding cooked sausage, vegetables, or different types of cheeses for variation.
  • For extra flavor, brush the baked rolls with garlic butter just after removing them from the oven.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat them in the oven or air fryer to maintain the crispy texture.
