- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk, as needed
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg, then stir until the mixture is smooth.
- Knead the Dough: Gradually add the remaining flour while kneading on a lightly floured surface. Continue kneading for about 8 minutes until the dough is soft, smooth, and elastic.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Shape the Rolls: Roll the dough out into a 14 by 9-inch rectangle. Spread strawberry jam evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with finely chopped fresh strawberries.
- Roll and Slice: Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log, then slice into 12 equal rolls.
- Second Rise: Place the rolls cut side up in a greased baking dish, cover, and allow them to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
