Description

This Maple Glazed Salmon recipe offers a deliciously sweet and savory glaze featuring maple syrup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard, perfectly complementing tender baked salmon fillets. Simple to prepare and quick to bake, it pairs beautifully with steamed broccoli and cooked rice for a wholesome, crowd-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Glaze

  • 2 pounds salmon fillets
  • â…› cup brown sugar
  • â…› cup maple syrup
  • 1½ tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • â…› teaspoon pepper

Optional Garnishes and Sides

  • Almonds, chopped or sliced (optional)
  • Green onion, chopped (optional)
  • Cooked rice
  • Broccoli

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Pan: Spray a 9×13 inch baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the salmon fillets evenly in the pan, skin-side down if the skin is present.
  2. Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, reduced-sodium soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
  3. Glaze the Salmon: Pour the glaze evenly over the salmon fillets, making sure each piece is well coated for maximum flavor.
  4. Add Vegetables (Optional): If desired, place fresh broccoli florets on one side of the pan and arrange cooked rice on the other side around the salmon fillets.
  5. Bake: Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C). Bake thick fillets for 15–20 minutes or check after 10 minutes if fillets are thin. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Finish & Serve: Remove the pan from the oven. Garnish the salmon with chopped or sliced almonds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve immediately with rice and broccoli.

Notes

  • Check salmon thickness early to avoid overcooking; thinner fillets may need less time.
  • Skin-on salmon fillets help keep the fish moist during baking.
  • You can substitute broccoli with other vegetables like asparagus or green beans.
  • Use fresh maple syrup for best flavor in the glaze.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
