Description

These Keto Wonton Wrappers offer a low-carb, gluten-free alternative to traditional wonton wrappers, perfect for keto-friendly dumplings or fried wontons. Made with mozzarella, cream cheese, almond flour, and egg, these wrappers are delicate yet pliable, providing a delicious base for a variety of fillings.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Mixture

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese

Dough

  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Melt Cheeses: Place the shredded mozzarella and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 60 to 90 seconds, stirring halfway through, until the cheeses are completely melted and smooth.
  2. Form Dough: Add almond flour, egg, salt, and garlic powder to the melted cheese mixture and mix thoroughly until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Knead Dough: While the dough is still warm, knead it gently until it becomes smooth and pliable, helping the ingredients to combine perfectly.
  4. Roll Out Dough: Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out very thinly, about 1/16 inch thickness, to replicate traditional wonton wrapper thinness.
  5. Cut Wrappers: Remove the top parchment sheet and cut the dough into 3-inch squares to resemble wonton wrappers.
  6. Use or Cook: Use the wrappers immediately with your preferred filling. If a firmer texture is desired, lightly cook each wrapper in a pan over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes per side before filling.

Notes

  • Keep the dough warm while working, as it hardens and becomes difficult to roll when cooled; reheat briefly if needed.
  • These wrappers are best used fresh to maintain pliability.
  • They may not crisp up exactly like traditional wonton wrappers but hold fillings well for keto-friendly dumplings or fried wontons.
