Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 4 medium russet potatoes, scrubbed and dried
Seasonings
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) to get it ready for cooking the potatoes evenly and crisping the skin.
- Prepare the Potatoes: Pierce each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking. Then, rub all sides evenly with olive oil to help the skins crisp up.
- Season the Potatoes: Sprinkle the potatoes evenly with coarse salt along with black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika if desired, enhancing the flavor and aroma.
- Arrange in Air Fryer Basket: Place the potatoes in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Make sure to leave space between them for proper air circulation and even cooking.
- Cook the Potatoes: Air fry the potatoes for 35 to 45 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The potatoes are done when the skins are crispy and a fork easily pierces the center.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing them open. Serve with your favorite toppings such as butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, or bacon bits.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, avoid wrapping the potatoes in foil during cooking.
- Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the potatoes; larger potatoes may require additional time.
- Enhance flavor by topping with butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, or bacon bits as preferred.
