Ingredients
Scale
Meat Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
Dough & Cheese
- 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
- 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved
Butter Topping
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, then drain the excess fat. Add the taco seasoning mix as per the packet instructions, stir well to combine, and set aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough tube and cut it into 10 equal rectangles, which will be the base for each taco stick.
- Assemble the Taco Sticks: Spoon a portion of the seasoned beef onto each dough rectangle, place a halved cheese stick on top, then roll the dough around the filling, sealing the edges carefully to encase the filling. Place the wrapped sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush with Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush this flavorful mixture generously over each assembled taco stick to enhance the crust and add flavor.
- Bake: Bake the taco sticks in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm with your favorite dips for a tasty, satisfying snack or meal.
Notes
- Ensure to seal the dough edges well to prevent filling leakage during baking.
- You can substitute the cheese sticks with your preferred shredded cheese if desired.
- Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.
- Leftovers can be reheated in an oven or toaster oven for best texture.
