Ingredients
Scale
Meat Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
Dough & Cheese
- 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
- 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved
Butter Topping
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the taco sticks.
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain off any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning mix according to the package instructions. Mix well to evenly coat the beef and remove from heat.
- Prepare the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough tube and cut into 10 equal rectangular pieces for the taco sticks.
- Assemble the Taco Sticks: Spoon a portion of the seasoned beef onto each dough rectangle, place a halved cheese stick on top, then carefully roll the dough around the filling and pinch the edges to seal. Arrange the assembled sticks onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush with Butter Mixture: Combine melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley, then brush this flavorful mixture evenly over each taco stick to enhance browning and taste.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Allow the taco sticks to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dips for a delicious appetizer or snack.
Notes
- You can substitute the cheese sticks with any preferred shredded cheese if you don’t have cheese sticks on hand.
- Ensure to seal the dough edges well to prevent cheese and filling from leaking out while baking.
- For a spicier kick, add some chili flakes to the beef mixture or use spicy taco seasoning.
- These taco sticks can be made ahead and reheated in the oven for a quick snack.
