Ingredients
Scale
Turkey
- 2 large boneless skinless turkey breasts
Cheese Filling
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Seasonings & Other
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the turkey breasts.
- Prepare Turkey: Butterfly each turkey breast by slicing horizontally through the middle, being careful not to cut all the way through, then open the breast like a book to create a flat surface.
- Make Cheese Filling: In a bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella, softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Season Turkey: Sprinkle each butterflied turkey breast with salt, black pepper, and paprika evenly on both sides.
- Stuff Turkey: Spread the cheese mixture evenly over one side of each turkey breast. Carefully fold over or roll the turkey tightly and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine to hold the filling inside.
- Sear Turkey: Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the stuffed turkey breasts on both sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Bake: Transfer the skillet directly to the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Rest and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the turkey rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Remove toothpicks or twine, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute spinach or sun-dried tomatoes into the cheese filling for extra flavor and texture.
- Be careful not to overstuff the turkey breasts to prevent the cheese filling from leaking during cooking.
- Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the turkey is cooked safely and remains juicy.
- Serving this dish with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad complements the flavors well.
