Description

Bunny Pretzels are a delightful and whimsical treat perfect for Easter or any springtime celebration. This recipe transforms simple pretzel twists into adorable bunny faces coated with white chocolate almond bark and decorated with pink and black food coloring gel for features, creating a fun and festive snack that’s easy to prepare and sure to charm both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Coating

  • 6 squares white chocolate almond bark, melted (divided into two batches)

Pretzels

  • 24 pretzel twists

Decorations

  • Pink food coloring gel
  • Black food coloring gel

Instructions

  1. Melt the White Chocolate Almond Bark: In two separate microwavable bowls, melt 3 squares of white chocolate almond bark each. Heat in 20-30 second increments, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted.
  2. Coat the Pretzels: Dip each pretzel twist into one batch of melted white chocolate almond bark until fully coated. Place the coated pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet and allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until firm.
  3. Decorate the Bunnies’ Features: Using the pink food coloring gel, carefully paint or dot the ears on the top of each pretzel to mimic bunny ears. Then, use the black food coloring gel to add eyes, nose, and mouth details to complete the bunny face.
  4. Let Set Completely: Allow the decorated pretzels to rest until all chocolate and food coloring gel have fully set and hardened before serving or packaging them.

Notes

  • Use almond bark instead of regular chocolate for easier melting and setting.
  • For quicker setting, refrigerate coated pretzels but avoid condensation which may cause discoloration.
  • Be gentle with the food coloring gel to avoid smudging the decorations.
  • These treats make excellent party favors or gifts when wrapped in cellophane bags.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
