Description

A refreshing and vibrant Watermelon Margarita made with fresh watermelon juice, lime, and your choice of spirit. This quick cocktail is perfect for warm days, combining a sweet and tangy flavor with a hint of agave syrup and a salted rim.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Margarita

  • ½ cup your choice of spirit (tequila recommended)
  • ¼ cup triple sec or orange liqueur
  • â…“ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 cup fresh watermelon, blended and strained
  • 1-2 tbsp agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice

For Garnish

  • Coarse salt or Tajín, for rimming (optional)
  • Watermelon wedges
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glasses: Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Dip the rims into coarse salt or Tajín for a flavorful and tangy rim. Set the glasses aside.
  2. Mix the Margarita: In a blender, blend the fresh watermelon until smooth, then strain it to remove any pulp. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the spirit, triple sec, lime juice, watermelon juice, and agave syrup. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  3. Serve & Garnish: Fill each prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture over the ice. Garnish each glass with a watermelon wedge and a lime wedge.
  4. Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your refreshing Watermelon Margarita!

Notes

  • Adjust agave syrup according to desired sweetness.
  • Use fresh watermelon for the best flavor; seedless varieties work best.
  • For a spicier rim, use Tajín instead of salt.
  • Chill glasses beforehand for a colder drink.
  • Substitute triple sec with Cointreau or another orange liqueur if preferred.
