Ingredients
Scale
Pastry
- 1 (8-ounce) package Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls (8 rolls)
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Unroll Dough: Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough and lay each crescent out flat on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread Filling: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, light brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Spread this mixture evenly across each crescent roll piece to ensure every bite is flavorful.
- Roll and Bake: Roll each crescent roll tightly starting from the wider end, placing the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-12 minutes, or until the twists turn golden brown.
- Make Glaze: While the twists are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract (if using) in a small bowl until smooth and pourable. Adjust milk quantity to get the desired glaze consistency.
- Drizzle and Enjoy: Once the cinnamon twists have cooled slightly but are still warm, drizzle the glaze generously over the top. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- For a stronger cinnamon flavor, you can sprinkle extra cinnamon on top before baking.
- You may add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling for added texture and flavor.
- Make sure not to overbake to keep the twists soft and flaky.
- Glaze consistency can be thickened or thinned by adjusting powdered sugar or milk respectively.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently before serving.
