Description

This Spaghetti Stuffed Garlic Bread is a deliciously indulgent Italian-inspired main course that combines the comforting flavors of garlic bread and cheesy spaghetti. Perfect for a family dinner or a cozy weeknight meal, this recipe features a hollowed-out loaf of Italian or French bread filled with spaghetti tossed in marinara sauce, topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and baked to golden, bubbly perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread Base

  • 1 large loaf of Italian or French bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Spaghetti Filling

  • 8 oz cooked spaghetti
  • 1½ cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (plus more for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese Topping

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed garlic bread.
  2. Prepare the spaghetti filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the cooked spaghetti and marinara sauce to the skillet, stirring well until the spaghetti is evenly coated. Season with salt, pepper, and chopped fresh parsley. Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare the bread: Slice the top off the loaf of bread lengthwise. Carefully hollow out the inside of the bread to create a well for the filling, making sure not to cut through the bottom to keep the loaf intact.
  4. Assemble the stuffed bread: Brush the hollowed bread interior with the melted butter. Spoon the spaghetti mixture into the bread cavity, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the filling.
  5. Bake: Place the stuffed loaf on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven, garnish the top with additional fresh parsley, and slice into sections. Serve warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For extra garlic flavor, use garlic butter instead of plain melted butter.
  • You can prepare the stuffed bread ahead of time and bake it just before serving to save time.
  • Add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the spaghetti mixture for a heartier, meatier version.
