Description

A classic and elegant Shrimp Scampi with Pasta recipe featuring tender angel hair pasta tossed with succulent sautéed shrimp in a rich garlic butter and white wine sauce, garnished with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese. Ready in just 30 minutes, this dish is perfect for a quick yet impressive dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz angel hair pasta

Shrimp Scampi Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper

Garnish

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook for 4-5 minutes until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, keeping it warm.
  2. Sauté the Shrimp: In a large pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: Pour in the dry white wine and season with ground black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then let it simmer for 30 seconds to reduce slightly and blend the flavors.
  4. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together gently until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce and shrimp are well distributed.
  5. Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley over the pasta. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the dish to add fresh citrus brightness.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white wine with chicken broth or vegetable broth.
  • Angel hair pasta cooks quickly; keep an eye on it to avoid overcooking.
  • Use fresh shrimp for best flavor and texture; thaw frozen shrimp completely before cooking.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
  • Reserve a small amount of pasta cooking water to loosen the sauce if needed.
