Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 oz angel hair pasta
Shrimp Scampi Sauce
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup dry white wine
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
Garnish
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook for 4-5 minutes until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, keeping it warm.
- Sauté the Shrimp: In a large pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare the Sauce: Pour in the dry white wine and season with ground black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then let it simmer for 30 seconds to reduce slightly and blend the flavors.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together gently until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce and shrimp are well distributed.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley over the pasta. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the dish to add fresh citrus brightness.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white wine with chicken broth or vegetable broth.
- Angel hair pasta cooks quickly; keep an eye on it to avoid overcooking.
- Use fresh shrimp for best flavor and texture; thaw frozen shrimp completely before cooking.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
- Reserve a small amount of pasta cooking water to loosen the sauce if needed.
