Description

Nduja Beef Loaded Fries are a decadent and spicy twist on classic loaded fries, featuring crispy golden fries topped with a flavorful blend of spicy Nduja pork sausage and ground beef, melted cheese, and garnished with fresh chives, sour cream, and pickled jalapeños for an extra kick. This dish is perfect for a hearty snack or casual meal that packs bold, savory flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Fries

  • 1 lb frozen French fries or hand-cut potatoes

Beef Topping

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Nduja (spicy spreadable pork sausage)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese & Garnishes

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives or green onions
  • 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Fries: Cook the fries according to the package instructions or bake them at 425°F (220°C) until they turn golden and crispy.
  2. Brown Beef: While the fries are cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Mix in Nduja and Spices: Stir in the Nduja, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the browned beef. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes, allowing the Nduja to fully melt and infuse its spicy flavor into the beef mixture.
  4. Prepare the Fries Base: Once the fries are cooked, spread them evenly on an oven-safe dish or tray to create the base of the loaded fries.
  5. Assemble Loaded Fries: Evenly distribute the Nduja beef mixture over the fries, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Broil Cheese: Place the dish under the oven broiler for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and slightly browned.
  7. Add Garnishes: Remove the loaded fries from the oven and garnish with sour cream, chopped chives or green onions, and pickled jalapeños if desired.
  8. Serve Immediately: Serve the loaded fries hot and enjoy the delicious combination of spicy, cheesy, and savory flavors.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, toss the fries with a little oil before baking if using hand-cut potatoes.
  • Adjust the amount of Nduja based on your preferred spice level.
  • Use either mozzarella or cheddar cheese, or a blend for more flavor complexity.
  • Sour cream and pickled jalapeños are optional but add nice creaminess and tangy heat.
  • To make it gluten-free, ensure the fries and all seasonings used are gluten-free certified.
