Description

A quick and easy method for perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs using an Instant Pot, resulting in consistent texture and easy peeling every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Instant Pot: Place the steam rack inside the bottom of the Instant Pot and pour in 1 cup of water.
  2. Add the eggs: Carefully place 6 large eggs on the steam rack inside the Instant Pot, ensuring they are not submerged in water.
  3. Seal the lid: Close the lid securely and set the valve to the sealing position to prepare for pressure cooking.
  4. Cook the eggs: Set the Instant Pot to manual pressure cook mode for 5 minutes.
  5. Natural release: Allow the pressure to naturally release for 5 minutes after cooking completes.
  6. Quick release: Carefully perform a quick release to release any remaining pressure.
  7. Cool and peel: Immediately run the eggs under cold water or place them in an ice bath to stop cooking, then peel and serve.

Notes

  • For easier peeling, eggs should be cooled quickly in an ice bath immediately after cooking.
  • Adjust cooking times slightly for softer or firmer yolks according to preference.
  • Use fresh eggs for the best texture but note that slightly older eggs peel more easily.
  • Ensure the Instant Pot valve is properly sealed before cooking to maintain pressure.
