Combining crispy romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, crunchy croutons, and shaved Parmesan, this salad is both satisfying and bursting with bold flavors. Perfect for a quick dinner or a flavorful lunch, the hot honey glaze adds the perfect hint of heat and sweetness to elevate this ultimate salad recipe.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Seasoning

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon blackened seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon hot honey (plus more for drizzling)

Salad

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce (chopped)
  • 1 cup homemade or store-bought croutons
  • ¼ cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • â…“ cup Caesar dressing
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry using paper towels to ensure they sear properly. Toss them in a bowl with olive oil, blackened seasoning, and hot honey until well coated.
  2. Cook the shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until they are nicely blackened and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the salad base: In a large bowl, toss the chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing, making sure the leaves are evenly coated with the creamy dressing.
  4. Assemble the salad: Add croutons and shaved Parmesan cheese to the dressed romaine and toss lightly to combine.
  5. Add shrimp and finish: Top the salad with the hot honey blackened shrimp. Drizzle additional hot honey over the top if desired, season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an optional fresh citrus squeeze.

Notes

  • You can make your own blackened seasoning by mixing paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • For a lighter version, substitute the Caesar dressing with a Greek yogurt-based dressing.
  • To make this dish gluten-free, use gluten-free croutons and verify that the Caesar dressing is gluten-free:
