Description

Enjoy a refreshing and healthy treat with Fresh Pineapple Strawberry Swirled Slushies. This vibrant beverage combines frozen pineapple and strawberries blended to a perfect slushy texture, swirled together for a beautiful marbled effect. Naturally sweetened with honey or maple syrup and brightened with lime juice, these slushies are perfect for a cooling summer snack or drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Pineapple Slushie

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (frozen)
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1/4 cup cold water (as needed)

Strawberry Slushie

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and frozen)
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Juice of remaining 1/2 lime
  • Ice cubes (optional, for thicker texture)

Instructions

  1. Blend Pineapple: In a blender, combine frozen pineapple chunks, 1/4 cup pineapple juice, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if using, and half the lime juice. Blend until smooth and slushy, adding cold water as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
  2. Set Aside Pineapple Mix: Pour the pineapple mixture into a bowl or jug and set aside to prepare the strawberry slushie.
  3. Blend Strawberries: Rinse the blender to remove pineapple residue, then add frozen strawberries, remaining pineapple juice, 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if using, and the rest of the lime juice. Blend until smooth and slushy.
  4. Layer and Swirl: In serving glasses, alternate spoonfuls of pineapple and strawberry mixtures to create layers. Using a straw or spoon, gently swirl the layers to create a marbled effect.
  5. Serve Immediately: Serve the slushies right away for the best texture and freshness. Optionally, add ice cubes during blending for a thicker slush.

Notes

  • For an adult version, add a splash of rum or vodka to either the pineapple or strawberry mix before blending.
  • You can substitute honey with agave syrup or omit sweetener entirely if the fruit is very ripe and naturally sweet.
  • To achieve a colder, thicker slushie, add a handful of ice cubes during blending.
