Ingredients
Scale
Red Layer
- 1 box Red Jello (strawberry or raspberry flavor)
- 2/3 cup boiling water
- 1/3 cup cold water (to complete package instructions)
White Layer
- 1 box White Jello (vanilla or coconut flavor)
- 2/3 cup boiling water
- 1/3 cup cold water
Blue Layer
- 1 box Blue Jello (blue raspberry flavor)
- 2/3 cup boiling water
- 1/3 cup cold water
Topping
- 2 cups Whipped Cream
Instructions
- Preparation: Gather all ingredients and equipment, including three clear cups or dessert glasses for layering.
- Dissolve Jello: For each Jello flavor, boil 2/3 cup of water as per package instructions. Stir the powder of each Jello box into the boiling water until fully dissolved. Then add 1/3 cup cold water to each mixture according to package directions.
- Make Red Layer: Pour the red Jello mixture into the cups, filling each about one-third full. Place the cups in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the red layer is set but still slightly wiggly to allow adhesion of next layer.
- Add White Layer: Carefully pour the white Jello mixture over the set red layer without disturbing it. Return the cups to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes until the white layer firms up.
- Pour Blue Layer: Once the white layer is fully set, gently add the blue Jello mixture over the white layer to fill the cups. Refrigerate once more for about 30 minutes or until the blue layer is completely set.
- Finish with Whipped Cream: After all Jello layers are firm (total setting time approximately 2 hours), top each cup with a generous dollop of freshly whipped cream. Serve chilled.
Notes
- Use clear cups to showcase the beautiful layered colors.
- Ensure each Jello layer is set but slightly wiggly before adding the next to help layers bond smoothly.
- You can substitute whipped cream with whipped topping for convenience.
- This dessert is best served within 24 hours of preparation for optimal freshness.
