Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 400g ladyfingers
- 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 300g mascarpone (good quality, high-fat content, at room temperature)
- 130ml cold espresso (freshly made and cooled)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, high-quality, for coating
Instructions
- Crush Ladyfingers: Crush the ladyfingers finely in a large bowl, either by hand or using a food processor, until they resemble breadcrumbs.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the powdered sugar to the ladyfinger crumbs. Then add the mascarpone (ensure it is at room temperature) and the cold espresso. Start mixing gently to combine, then increase the mixing speed until the mixture is smooth and firm enough to hold its shape.
- Shape Balls: Take small portions of the mixture, about a tablespoon each, and roll them between your palms to form balls approximately 3–4 cm (1–1.5 inches) in diameter. If the mixture sticks to your hands, lightly dampen your palms with cold water to help shape them.
- Coat with Cocoa Powder: Pour the unsweetened cocoa powder into a shallow dish. Roll each tiramisu ball in the cocoa powder until fully coated, then shake off any excess powder.
Notes
- Make sure the espresso is cold before mixing to avoid melting the mascarpone and to keep the mixture firm.
- If you prefer a sweeter dessert, adjust the powdered sugar to taste.
- These tiramisu balls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for best freshness.
- Use high-quality mascarpone with a high-fat content for a creamier texture.
