Ingredients
Scale
Beef Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Rollup and Garlic Butter
- 4 large flour tortillas
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Optional Garnish
- Sliced pickles for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Cook Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for about 7–8 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks until browned and fully cooked through.
- Season Beef: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine melted butter with minced garlic, mixing well to create flavorful garlic butter for brushing.
- Assemble Rollups: Lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface. Evenly divide the beef mixture among the tortillas, spreading it out. Top each with both shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Roll Tortillas: Carefully roll up each tortilla tightly, tucking in the sides as you roll to encase the filling. Place each rollup seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them sealed during baking.
- Brush and Bake: Generously brush the tops of each rollup with the prepared garlic butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the tops are golden browned and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before slicing into pinwheels if desired. Garnish with sliced pickles for a burst of tangy flavor and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute the flour tortillas with whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas if desired.
- Feel free to add chopped onions or bell peppers to the beef mixture for extra flavor and texture.
- Use a mix of your favorite cheeses or add some pepper jack for a spicy kick.
- These rollups are best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven.
