Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
Wraps
- 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas
- 4 slices American cheese
- 16 sliced pickles
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef seasoned with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until browned and fully cooked. Once done, set aside to keep warm.
- Prepare Tortillas: Microwave the flour tortillas covered with a damp paper towel for about 20 to 30 seconds to soften them. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon ketchup evenly over the surface of each tortilla.
- Assemble Wraps: On each tortilla, layer four slices of pickles, a slice of American cheese, and the cooked ground beef. Roll the tortillas up tightly like burritos, ensuring the filling is enclosed. Brush the outside of each wrap with melted butter to help achieve a golden crisp when cooking.
- Air Fry: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the wraps seam side down in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy. Optionally brush with more melted butter halfway through cooking for extra flavor and crunch.
- Serve: Remove the wraps from the air fryer and let them cool slightly to prevent burns. Cut in half if desired and serve immediately while warm and melty.
Notes
- Microwaving the tortillas before assembling makes them easier to roll and less likely to crack.
- You can substitute American cheese with cheddar or your favorite melting cheese.
- For a lower fat option, use lean ground beef or ground turkey.
- Watch wraps in the air fryer closely to prevent burning since all appliances vary slightly.
- These wraps reheat well in the air fryer or oven the next day.
