Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts evenly with salt, black pepper, and paprika to enhance the flavor of the meat.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust and are cooked through. Remove the chicken and set it aside to rest.
- Prepare the Sauce: Lower the heat to medium and add unsalted butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Add Liquids and Seasonings: Pour in the chicken broth and use a spatula to scrape up the browned bits from the skillet bottom for extra flavor. Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer gently for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens slightly.
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet. Spoon the creamy sauce over the top and continue to simmer for 2–3 minutes to warm the chicken through and allow the flavors to meld together.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top for a burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately, ideally over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta to enjoy the rich sauce fully.
Notes
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta to soak up the rich sauce.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
