Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Mixture
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works great)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Dough and Topping
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the bundles.
- Prepare filling: In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and creamy.
- Assemble bundles: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a flat surface and separate it into triangles according to the package directions. Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture onto the wider end of each triangle.
- Wrap and seal: Carefully roll up each triangle starting from the wide end, encasing the filling completely, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Brush with butter and add topping: Place bundles seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with seasoned bread crumbs if using, for a crunchy topping.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut but you can use any cooked, shredded chicken.
- Seasoned bread crumbs are optional but add a nice texture on top.
- You can substitute cheddar with mozzarella or your preferred cheese.
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some diced jalapeños to the filling.
- Serve with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
