Scale
Shrimp Mixture
- 8 oz raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 egg white
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
For the Toast
- 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the shrimp toasts.
- Prepare the shrimp: Finely chop the raw shrimp by hand or pulse them in a food processor until coarsely minced for a textured topping.
- Mix the topping: In a medium bowl, combine the minced shrimp, finely chopped green onions, minced garlic, mayonnaise, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, white pepper, egg white, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir well until thoroughly mixed.
- Assemble the toasts: Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread a generous spoonful of the shrimp mixture evenly onto each slice. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture and flavor.
- Bake the toasts: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the shrimp topping is cooked through and slightly golden on top.
- Optional broiling step: For extra crispiness, broil the shrimp toasts for 1–2 minutes after baking, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley or additional green onions if desired. Serve the shrimp toasts warm for the best taste.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the shrimp toast for an additional 1–2 minutes after baking.
- You can prepare the shrimp mixture ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
