Description

This hearty All Day Beef Chili is a comforting and flavorful dish perfect for slow cooking. Made with ground beef, chili beans, tomatoes, and a blend of spices, this chili simmers low and slow for 8 hours to develop rich, deep flavors. Ideal for a cozy family meal, it’s both simple to prepare and satisfying to enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 3½ Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 (15-oz) cans Bush’s chili beans, undrained
  • 2 (14.5-oz) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 4 Tbsp dried minced onions
  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain the fat to reduce grease, then transfer the cooked beef to your crockpot.
  2. Add ingredients to crockpot: Stir in the salt, pepper, chili powder, chili beans with their liquid, diced tomatoes with their juice, dried minced onions, and minced garlic into the crockpot with the beef. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  3. Cook low and slow: Cover the crockpot with its lid and cook on the low setting for 8 hours. This long, slow cooking time allows the flavors to deepen and the ingredients to meld together into a rich chili.

Notes

  • For a thicker chili, remove the lid in the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow excess liquid to evaporate.
  • Adjust chili powder to taste depending on your preferred level of spiciness.
  • Serve with toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions if desired.
  • This recipe is excellent for meal prep and leftovers taste even better the next day.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
