Ingredients
Scale
Bagel Dough
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 scoop unflavored or vanilla protein powder (about 25–30g)
Toppings & Finishes
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, self-rising flour, and protein powder. Stir the ingredients together until a dough forms, then transfer it onto a floured surface and knead briefly until smooth and pliable.
- Shape the bagels: Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each portion into a rope and connect the ends to form classic bagel shapes.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and preheat for 3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Apply egg wash and toppings: Brush each bagel with the beaten egg to create a glossy finish. Sprinkle your choice of toppings such as everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds for added flavor and texture.
- Air fry the bagels: Place the bagels carefully in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Remove the bagels from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving to enjoy their perfect texture and flavor.
Notes
- If you don’t have self-rising flour, make your own by mixing 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- For best taste and freshness, consume these bagels shortly after cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days to maintain softness.
- Feel free to customize toppings to suit your preference or dietary needs.
