Description
Deliciously flaky and chocolate-filled croissants made effortlessly in an air fryer, perfect for a quick breakfast or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Scale
Croissant Base
- 12-ounce can Pillsbury flaky crescent rolls
Filling
- 5 tbsp Nutella
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
Egg Wash
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water or milk
Optional Garnishes
- Melted chocolate chips
- Honey
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Prepare Crescents: Separate the crescent rolls and lay them flat on a clean surface. Spread Nutella evenly on top of each piece, then sprinkle chocolate chips over the larger end of each roll to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Roll and Brush: Starting from the larger end, carefully roll up each crescent into a croissant shape. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water or milk to create an egg wash. Brush this mixture generously over the rolled croissants to ensure a golden, glossy finish when cooked.
- Air Fry Croissants: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the croissants in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching to allow even cooking. Air fry for 8 minutes or until they turn golden brown and flaky.
- Optional Garnishing: Once cooked, you may drizzle the croissants with melted chocolate chips and top with honey or a dusting of powdered sugar for extra sweetness and presentation appeal.
Notes
- Be careful not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and browning.
- Use a silicone brush for applying the egg wash for better coverage and less mess.
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor experience.
- You can substitute Nutella with any other chocolate-hazelnut spread or jam if desired.
- Store leftover croissants in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispiness.
